The site is back up.
Osu! Everyone. I’m sorry for taking a long time to get it up running again.
It’s nice to see this site back up again. There are links pointing at wrong pages still but we will fix them over time.

Kawasaki’s Dojo Web Link - pics of Japan trip!
Sensei Kawasaki sent the following link to his new website:
http://www.kyokushin-nzuri.com/
Okay, it’s all in Japanese but if you click on the pale blue kanji button you’ll find thumbnails featuring Chris & Kawa outside the new dojo & the kiwi kids. If you click on the pics you’ll find more photos!
Kawasaki also tells us a World Karate magazine is on it’s way & it features an article about the recent high grade grading at MVD!
Ladies Camp 25-27 July
The NZKOK ladies are counting down to their annual ‘Ladies Retreat’ in Taupo. This year we have invited Pina & Jesse Simpson to take the two main sessions. They are Ju Jitsu / BJJ instructors and will be showing the Kyokushin ladies Gracie self defence techniques. We’re also looking forward to the tamashiwari challenge, yoga with Sensei Marion and of course plenty of good food, R&R & hotpools!
Junior Gradings
Congratulations to all the members of the junior dojo who graded in the last 2 weeks of term. The evening gradings were short & sweet & possibly belied the work that had gone in during term and the assessments the kids have been going through in recent weeks. The kids are looking stronger than they ever have. Shihan Chris was really rapt with everyone’s performance. He even confessed he was going to miss taking the juniors over the school holidays! Maybe we’ll remember this sentiment next holidays & organise a holiday program! If anyone is interested or has good ideas let Chris know.
John Will Seminar
The John Will seminar was fab, as expected. John took us through some techniques to avoid the grapple and gave us some great drills to take away, particularly around the sprawl (avoiding a takedown). We spent most of the time breaking down the double leg takedown and the overwhelming response was how thorough and effective the material was & how we all felt we came away ready to pull a double leg anywhere, anyhow! Great stuff!
